I can't believe how good Parker and Stone have gotten. Tonight's episode may not have been funniest one ever (for the record, it was up there) but it was definitely the best. 'They have the most subvertedly (damn, you can't make 'subvert' into an adverb. How fucking AWESOME is it having wordcheck on my compueter? I got a nice high goin'.) cohesive show on TV. No, fuck that, the most subvertly cohesive narrative in anything I've ever seen or read or heard. Shit, there's probably better out there but I don't get them. "South Park" is right at my pitch. They've grown up with us and have led the way for our generation. What was their whole feud with Stern about? I'll have to find that out. In any case--that case being in case you missed the season premiere--, Eric meets a young man at the mall cursing out his mother and can't believe it. After a brief chat with the kid Eric discovers what Tourette's Syndrome is and immediately has the epiphany he will capitalize on...without ever giving any reason as to the eventual consequences. Importantly, we also get a nicely-placed, ironic, sentimental-appeal. He tells Eric he's so ashamed of the disparaging effects of the disease on his parents (His dad left him. LOL!) that inevitably--and actually--DRIVE the plot. That's all I want to say other than they bring Chris Hanson in from "To Catch A Predator" and honestly work it into Tourette's. And Eric prays to God...sincerely. ------------------BIG SPOILERS AHEAD---------------And Kyle saves Eric. And Eric thanks and hugs Kyle. Erick 'was' fucked. For the first time he was beaten and he knew it. It's a little scary if you're high because you'll really ponder what it 'really' is like to lose the filter in your mind. Stay tough! I did. P.S. I was really depressed before the show started because of the whole conscious cheating and then I read Camus' "The Stranger" and the opening line about the mother REALLY depressed me. But it should. I'm gonna read that book again. I thought it was funny but that's only because I didn't care about him--the scenes with the priest toward the end got me a little but even the most emotionally drained cynic is still gonna pay closer attention when God is involved. So long as they still 'want' to believe in him. I'm gonna have some whiskey. I love everybody so much. I've got a lot of love to give. I'm a beacon of hope. I'm a one way motorway. I'm a street-light shinin'. I'm the one who drives away and follows you back home. I, I'm a little divided. Do I stay or runaway and leave it all behind. IT'S TIMES LIKE THESE YOU LEARN TO LIVE AGAIN!!!! IT'S TIMES LIKE THESE YOU GIVE AND GIVE AGAIN!!!! IT'S TIMES LIKE THESE YOU LEARN TO LOVE AGAIN!!!! IT'S TIMES LIKE THESE TIME AND TIME AGAIN!!!! IT'S TIMES LIKE THESE YOU LEARN TO LIVE AGAIN!!!! Dave Grohl is a very special human being. My Dylan, that's for sure. 'Whose yours?', he lovingly asked...and he felt warm because he realized that he really wanted to know what they thought. Chris Matthews, like Grohl, is my Dylan when it comes to that end of my life. I will unite the two of them. That is my role. I'm the liaison of my people. YO ADRIAN!!! I DID IT!!! [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
