As I said on the other Board, how true all of this is. I am increasingly pessimistic about the Boerboel's future. Too many dogs being bred in the wrong way by too many inexperienced or completely ignorant people who have not bothered to learn anything before gearing up to become breeders. I was asked a question by a person on the internet in the last few days. The question demonstrated such a lack of understanding about dogs, genetics and canine behaviour that I just sighed and could not summon the energy to answer it. You cannot teach calculus to someone who does not know how to add.

As you said, on top of that, you have established "breeders" who breed an appraisal score and could not care less if the dog behind the score is unhealthy, useless, stupid, crippled or insane. Sometimes it makes you wonder what you are doing as nobody cares or hears above the noise that you are trying to do something better. Sometimes I think why don't I just have a few dogs and breed them purely as replacements for myself and save myself all the hassle but I love this breed and want to see it being the glorious animal it used to be.
