Well put Christel and as usual points well articulated David. However, these periodic waives of rancorous personal attacks cannot be helpful to the Boerboel community which already suffers from a famine of constructive information acquisition on breed development. The recent discussions had merit but the side-swiping did NOT.I come to these boards with one aim ONLY. To reap from the rich harvest of those with experience and knowledge. In some ways,it is a testimony to our passion for the breed that these discussions become vociferous. Is now not a good time to re-prioritise and focus on the shaping the breed and steering it to its rightful place...I contacted DKH 3 years ago and again recently because I felt the and it is still my belief that he breeds good Boerboels.People engage in different pursuits with their Boerboels - I know I do.That is a choice that an inividual makes. It is a testament to the versatility of the breed that its assigned traits and aptitude equip it to adapt to these various pusuits.I have had several working breeds and have always trained in a similar persuasion with success and the Boerboel is not greatly different in its capacity to learn.Historically the Boerboel may have been bred as a farm work/homestead guardian dog but then, how many breeds today are kept solely for the work their ancestors performed.Interesting discourse nonetheless.
