"James, If I were calling into question your integrity I would have to know you...I do not. I likewise know nothing of your registry, but I do know of the pitfalls ahead of you...isn't that of interest?"

Of course it us of interest. That is why I contacted you in the first place. However once we have identified the pitfalls learned from past failures and experience, it becomes time to move on and to avoid those pitfalls in the future, not to dwell on them forever.

"Or do you just want cheers and a joyous following of optimistic albeit inexperienced members? Don't try to tell me your membership is comprised of lifelong experienced working dog-men and women devoted to this Boerboel...or I will have to ask you where you found them and why they are just now reaching out to the world at large, to just now start to work and test this breed. Can't have it both ways."

The Group as yet has no members. We are currently forming a steering group which will be composed of experienced people who wish to preserve the best of the Boerboel temperament and working qualities and not to change it. They will assist by pooling their knowledge and experience to help by using our combined knowledge to formulate the best plan to achieve our goals in the future. All but one of these people, so far invited have accepted the invitation. Some have yet to be invited. Inexperienced people will be invited to join the group when it is launched so that they can learn how to breed, train and live with these dogs and to do something active and worthwhile with them. I do not try to have it both ways.

"You say, "The objective of the Association is to protect the historical temperament of the Boerboel to which not enough attention is being given and to preserve its working qualities into the future"

Great! That is exactly what we have been doing for a dozen years! Stay after it and good luck."

There are breeders all around the World not just in the USA who have been doing this. There are just not enough of them. One of the Group's goals is to educate more people to breed this way and to focus on breeding the whole dog, including its mind and to stop focusing only on how it looks.

"And James, if you think this conversation is going nowhere productive, you are not listening. Don't take it personal, this is of interest to all of us."

It may be of interest to all of us but to be productive, it needs to stop reversing into the future with its eyes fixed firmly on the failures of the past and to start looking forward and in a positive manner consider how the experience of the past may best be used to succeed in the future.

For Jenny. I am far from in a huff but as one who rarely posts on Internet message boards, I see no point in indulging in endless discussions that go around in circles with no obvious outcome or productive end in sight
