The breeder is an SABT official in AZ who has refused to take the dog back, and has dissolved himself of any responsibility. :(

I think Walter will be a nice dog in the right home. His problem is only with very young children who may not recognize his cues to leave him alone. He spent 4 years as their only dog in the house, and then the baby came along about a year ago. If a child is quiet and adult-like (not screaming, shrieking, etc.), Walter is fine. He has some fear aggression when out on walks, but it is easily controlled through treats -- Walter's owners had some professional training with Walter. If Walter starts to get anxious, they can get him to focus back on them through the treats. They are able to walk Walter with a simple flat collar.

From his owner: "I forgot to mention that one of the strategies that our trainer taught us, which helps us get past other dogs is to carry a treat pouch and distract Walter with treats and lots of loving attention until we pass the other dog. Walter is very food motivated and that works pretty well."

Walter is good with dogs that he knows and trusts. He is fine with the owner's parents' dog, a Miniature Schnauzer.
