Hi Sharon,

The pups will be 12 months in a week's time. I'm therefore very pleased that they're holding their own against adult dogs.

Of course, we're still in the lower ranks of competition - the exercises consist of heeel on and off lead, recall, retrieve and group stays. If we win out to the next level, we'll have to do scent discrimination, so I'll start training that this winter.

Competing 3 dogs is quite tricky as I don't like to put more than one dog in group stays. I trust all of mine to stay on their spot but if another dog breaks and has a pop at one of them, I'm afraid it may be one in, all in!

This has been my first season competing as well as the dogs and I've really enjoyed it but I've so much to learn. If you have any tips or insight re competing with Boerboels, I'd be grateful.

regards,
Lucinda
