Subject: Leonadis first experiance with bite work *test*

Well this past weekend at the working dog expo I had the oppertunity to utilize some nice trainers and decided to test Leonadis out and see if he'd actually defend me and back up his bark with a bite. I was very impressed. He's very much a spoiled rotten boy who's never had to prove himself other than defending my girls when he was here breeding Precious.
He immediately alerted when a threat approached, and stood his ground. Was a bit unsure at first with all the people around and really wanted to be playful and loving but instincts took over! I did make alot of mistakes and need to learn how to handle but I think I'm ready to try it! I really liked how they built up his confidence and "tested" him before pressing into him.

Decoy pressed him and he went in for bite but wavered the first time, was wanting to bite but acted like he wasn't sure it was ok, but pressed again and he nailed him. A good deep full bite at that! I stepped on him on accident on back foot and distracted him but went right back to defending once he realized threat was back. Decoy popped him in side with a peice of PVC and it startled him and confused him but really seemed to piss him off. He was hell on 4 legs after that!!! Once threat was gone he was back to loving on everyone.

I don't plan on persuing anything with him, as his owners dont want to do that, I just wanted to see for the most part if what I'm produsing and using has it in them to back up their bark and defend when they feel a threat.

I do have his pups with Precious on the ground now and do plan on using them for bitework. I'm very intrested now that I've gotten a small taste of it!!

Thanks again to Divine Kennels for allowing us to participate and letting me get a better knowlege of how my dogs behave! Funny how a sweet loving spoiled rotten boerboel can turn defensive and protective even after never experiancing anything like that at 3 years old!

I have a lot to learn thats for sure!!!
