Your dogs don't cross finish lines. That's the point. No hard numbers and no real cash to drive true competition. The argument of outcrossing dies there. So what you're left with is, breeding to your opinion and the opinions of those breeding within the same gene pool and hoping for the best rather than breeding to some cross that some guy thought would make a good mix.
