Greetings All,
It seems there have been a lot of Boerboel boards down through the years. Some of these have given me cheap entertainment,taught me a thing or two and put me in contact with some interesting people. Some of the others were nothing much other than platforms for propaganda promoting some self-serving agendas or stimulating fiscal gain. Then there is this board.
I keep coming back to this joint because everyone is allowed to say what is on their mind and stand up for whatever they believe in. That said, this board tends to police itself. We have all the agendas,breed policy suggestions and good old capitalism you could want, but if you're silly you'll be pounced on like a hobo on a Hot Pocket.
It's not all fun and games as every now and then there's a real gem to be had. To see the latest one check out DKH's recent "selective memory" post. What once took us an afternoon to say, he did it in a few paragraphs. Should be required reading for all newcomers to the breed.
The thing that keeps this board useful and successful as well as being one of the longest running is the ability to come here and say whatever without concern of censorship. You live or die here based on the strength and validity of your message. Who can forget such concepts as the "tackle and hold" and "the Boerboel isn't really a working dog" as well as a host of other viewpoints. Censorship might have prevented these from being discussed in daylight as well as not introducing us to some colorful folks. We've also seen some boobs expose themselves for all to see. It's got to be kept open and unhindered for useful debate to take place. If you want to be kept emotionally safe and exposed to a controlled narrow viewpoint then go to one of the other boards and be told what to think. If you want a little freedom to hear many viewpoints then we got your spot.
