By all manner of folks. Many of whom bought a Kangal x Boerboel cross.

It seems to make sense for a lot of people. Particularly those who have some stock guarding needs, but perhaps don't want the headaches associated with a pure livestock guardian and it's independent ways. Or maybe they wanted a boerboel but they simply couldn't afford to buy six or seven so that they might end up with one that was sound. Or they actually needed a dog that was truly intolerant of unwelcome strangers. Everybody is different, all I can say for sure is virtually everybody that comes and looks at them and their parents buys one.

The only other thing I am willing to guarantee is they are more likely to be healthy than a pure Boerboel. Taller also, possessed of coat with more cold tolerance, and able to visually differentiate humans at distances greater than 30 yards.

And I can't speak for all combinations, but if your Kangal is too tough for you, you may well soften it up, make it a little more liability friendly, easier to beat on, than a pure Kangal.

At least that seems to be the case with crosses that I raised relative their Kangal sire. Softer... and maybe not quite as bright. But less independent, more obedient, less likely to roam.
