I would suggest a few things:
Contact the Society for Psychical Research: they have lots of info available (and ghost-hunters that work for them)!
KEEP READING...become your own expert first....knowledge will ultimately count more than pieces of paper...
I don't think you'd necessarily need a degree in it...there *are* places to study parapsychology, but you may not need to. Perhaps you could check out the legalities of registering yourself as a paranormal investigator, as a business...affiliate with someone like the SPR (above)...or some psychic research org that is well-known, they will provide you with heaps of info (particularly if you can share your case notes with them...they collect that kind of stuff as scientific data).
I suggest this would be the quickest, easiest way to do it...read, learn, affiliate with some org and start your own business doing just that (register it of course)...pass the word around, maybe advertise, and people will come to you.

Overall, start now! (I remember a clairvoyant once told me, 'if you don't get in your car now, you're never gonna get to where you were hoping to drive to'). If you have friends complaining of hauntings etc, or spooky locations, go and do some lay investigations! Ask your friends about their strange experiences. This way you will soon start to see for yourself the kinds of questions you should be asking, the equipment you wish you had taken to that haunted house...and you're getting real-life experience doing what you love...and incidentally...bless your socks!
