Hi.

Good question. I don't think a spirit, "ghost" or energy can affect someone else's state of mind, however, I do know that if one was "sensitive" to the spirit energy, he/she might feel or pick up on the feelings. Hence the feeling of sickness or sadness around some hauntings that are known to be dangerous or had murders, etc, happen there. Once the area is left, the person feels back to normal. But spirits are not like the well publicized "demon" type inhabitation of a person, spirits either haven't crossed over due to their feeling something wasn't done or completed or for protecting someone or something.
