It's not a strange question! I have been asked this question many times, and have even asked it myself! I am not certain what causes this phenomena, but I have experienced it myself, and come up with 2 theories:

1. The feeling or sensation that a ghost has followed you home from a haunted place is either a product of wishful thinking and imagination -OR- if it scares you, it is a physical manifestation of the strong feeling of fear that one has regarding ghosts.

2. A ghost actually does follow you home. Since I believe that ghosts are capable of the entire range of human emotion, it would not be too hard to see that if you remind the ghost of someone he or she cared about or had unfinished business with, or if you invited them to come and made them feel welcome, the ghost would follow you home!

I have had two experiences with this - one that I am sure was a manifestation of my own fear, and one that I feel was actually a ghost. he stayed around for a while, then one day he left!
