I grew up in Havertown and know of quite a few places that may be of interest to you. In Ridley Creek State Park, off of the main biking trail, there is a really old family cemetary, you can barely read the headstones and its pretty interesting. There is no trail to it, and no signs but if you ask at the main house, someone can tell you where it is.
There is also a book called "Night Stalks the Mansion" which is about a house in Rose Tree-Media that was part of the underground railroad, of a murder, and of the house that was there. Stories go on about how a yound girl was raped and murdered in the home by a slave and the house was burned to the ground. The house on the site has been rebuilt quite a few times due to fires that have been unexplained. It had many owner up till a few years ago. The house is a big stone house now, and is on historical property since part of the origional stone walls around the property are still standing.
There is also what I grew up knowing as "The Hoffman House" that stands on the other side of Havertown. Lots of history of ghosts, and the family still lives there. Mrs. Hoffman actually works at the Haverford Free Library and has written a few books about her house over the years. I'm sure you can find her books at that library.
I hope you find some more info on the Havertown area. Check out Swathmore area too. Good Luck!
