It's been so hard on my family atmosphere. My dad has been so worried about not hurting my mom's feelings, that he acts like I don't have any at all. Like, after they have had an argument (which has become SO much more frequent lately) he will go over and kiss her and make up. But he doesn't register that it might hurt me, too. I haven't hugged or kissed him in 3 days. He's also been working hard, which is good, but he's ignoring us, my mom and I. I want to help him, but he snaps at me everytime I trry. I keep wondering what I have done wrong.
My mom's been kinda wierd too since the operation. Oh, for those of you who are reading this, and don't know the story, it'll be at the end of this message.
My dad's been trying to work at home because he's been watching my mom and driving her into Boston for her radiation treatments a lot. He doesn't escape his job if he works here.
Here's the story:
One day my mom was feeling really weird so she went into the docters. They told her to come back the next day. She did and they did and they found a mass in her head. They kept her for a while in the hospital. My dad stayed in there with her and I went to my grandparents. My dad came there and told me that the mass was a tumer. That stunned me. A few days later, he came over again (I was still at my grandparents) and informed me that that tumer was cancerous. A few days after that conversation, my mom had an operation. On my birthday. I went into see her the next day and the docters said she was doing really well, but not to me. She was groggy and not herself. I didn't go to school much that week, it was hectic. My dad was only a shadow. It was so hard because I had my birthday party that weekend. At least my dad was there. It's funny, after my dad told me that it was a tumer, I kept repeating to myself, it's not cancer, it's not cancer and it was. Weird.
Well, thanks for listening!
