First of all here is another excellent resource for HTML amongst other things.

WEB MONKEY the WEB DEVELOPERS RESOURCE

Next I would like to suggest that when you post html on the message boards that you first  go to the HTML PRACTICE BOARD at  www.voy.com/9527/.  That board was set up just to practice html and to make sure it does not have any undesirable effects on the rest of the board after you post it.  Just leaving one tag open change the entire message board such as making all the messages in bold type or huge type etc etc - so it is advisable until you are more experienced to use the practice board first - and even when you have been using html for some time - you can still screw up - BELIEVE ME I KNOW!!

As for the posting on these message boards and what causes the post to drop down - this usually just occurs when you are posting a table.   Normally when creating a table the code will be like this:

<div align="center">
<center>
<table width="75%" bgcolor="#000000" >
<tbody>
<tr>
<td valign="middle" width="100%"  height="40">cell content</td>
</tr>
</tbody>
</table>
</center>
</div>

For whatever reason the message boards seem to handle some of the code a bit different then would otherwise occur - THEREFORE if you remove the <div> and the <tbody> statements and their closing tags and when you put your html in the message box to post do not leave any blank lines the post should not drop down many spaces has you have experienced - TRY IT ON THE HTML PRACTICE BOARD and see.

If you have a boo boo just call the janitor via email and HE WILL NEVER LET YOU LIVE IT DOWN j/k - but he will have to remove your post in order to make the board right again

good luck
