Although I agree with the essence of the theological points made on that web site, I did not appreciate the tone of the article there (I found it pompous and arrogant).

It is true that the mass is defined as a reoffering of the selfsame sacrifice made at Calvary, which does in effect and in practice deny the truth declared in Hebrews 1, that being that Christ offered up the one and only sacrifice that would EVER be needed, and that where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.

Many of the other points were also valid.

However, what the writer of that piece needs to remember is that, if not for the rebirth that comes from God, we are all idolatrous, self-serving sinners, eternally and hopelessly lost.

This truth should bring us to trembling, by which we ask, "Oh, Lord, how is it that You should consider me, a hopeless, wretched, sinner?"

This truth should certainly NOT produce in us a spirit of arrogance and superiority over those who are still spiritually dead, but one of humility and grief over their lot.

May we be guided by the Lord God to deliver the true good seed, which is the Word of God as heard in the true gospel message, so that by the mercy of God and His watering, it would grow into something mighty and bear much fruit.

Let us show compassion, rather than criticism. Let us humbly bring them the same Word that God used to give us life, so that they may also live.

To the glory of God always.
