Subject: Palm Frond roof, double gable

Am building a clubhouse for my son in the backyard. It is 8'x 8' and has 4x4's for the main support posts, all built of redwood. #1, because of the high cost of redwood, already spent about $1500 and #2 would like something unique, and have access to many Mexican Fan Palm fronds here in Arizona, thought would be cool to roof with palm leaves. The under roof structure will be also constructed with 4x4's, but I'm still unsure how to connect the opposing gables together, and then attach the palm fronds. Also any ideas on fire proofing would be useful. bbender111@aol.com
