You are correct that only the 2 mods you indicated would make the Mustang compete with the Vette, but then again you have to look at the reliablity and how complex of an engine the Mustang is. It's a supercharged V8. Well no shit it's going to run strong. But it is surely not as reliably as a naturally aspirated LS6 motor. The LS6 is preastoric in design compared to the Mustang, and yet it still outperforms a supercharged engine. This motor has proven itself time and time again in ARCA races, where it dominates. I don't see any Mustangs with podium finishes. The point I'm trying to get at is the Vette may cost a little more, but for the reliability and the presitage of owning one of the premier sports cars in the world, I would be willing to pay the few extra dollars for the far superior handling and performing car.
