Hi guys,

As you may have noticed, the site has changed to be a moderated forum. This change was forced on me by one of the users who persisted in posting insulting remarks, and refusing to obey the site rules.

Eventually the user was asked not to post here if he could not obey the rules. He continued posting. When he then set up his own site, I hoped that the matter was over, and he would no longer need to post here. However, that has not proven the case, and he continued to post insults. I then banned his IP address. He obtained a different IP address and returned. Obviously his site wasn't as satisfying as he hoped, since he still felt the need to post here. Changing IP is easy and I could do the same and post on his site. But really, what is the point?

Rather than waste my time banning each IP he used, the easiest way was simply to change the forum to a moderated forum. I expect him now to try to post under a different name. If he does, and uses a different IP, there is no way I could tell. However, to post here, he will now have to obey the rules, and that was what this was all about to begin with.

What does this mean to you?

Not much. Your posts will still be placed on the board, but there will be a short delay until I authorise them. It's a shame that someone who has no interest in the debate is happy to try to ruin it for everyone. But I suppose that is the mental level of the person concerned.

Apologies to any people indirectly affected by these problems.
