I don't doubt that might be the case. We know that gravity wells affect warp. Pretty much all the cases of warp starfing happened in deep space (with the exception of ST:TMP, but warp had already caused a problem there). We saw (in Elaan of Troyius) that warp strafing immedietely became in-effective against a warp drive starship.

Okay, since we agree, can we leave this unpleasentness and nastiness behind us?
