Well all things considered I must agree once again with you Warspite, I do tend to whine sometimes. But the examples of The Star Destroyer firing both at the Falcon and at the asteroid, should be considered Point defense weapons, since they were trying to capture the Falcon, not destroy it, and PDL weapons would have the targeting capability to deal with small fast moving asteroids. Also ISD's are 20 years newer and would hopefully at least be equal in firepower. But the fact is, that this is not cannon, so I will now leave that subject alone. I do still consider ICS: ATOC just as reliable as any TM because it agrees with the RPG material released at the same time and they all pretty much agree with each other. I know thats not much, but why would they have any reason to "lie" about their own fictional made up universe. That doesn't make sense. I generally accept TM material because even though the shows sometimes contradict TM's, the writters of the show are supposed to refer to them in matters of technicallity. Whether or not this is really true is also not clear. For the most part I try to use common sense in deciding what is what. When comparing the two I look for similair situations, and circumstances for comparison. Technobabble can sometimes be misleading. Especially on Star Trek! Voyager got a little excessive with that crap. Enterprise is a little much better I think.
