I am a 49 year old divorcee.I usually open my bowels every 4 to 5 days, but sometimes not until 10 days have passed.
My stools are usually large in diameter (up to 2.5 inches) and consist of hard compacted boluses. I often have to use a finger full of lubricant inserted in my anus to help me pass a stool.
Are stools of this size and hardness common, and does being constipated for this number of days really matter ?
