"The shift in Z-space is unusual," I mused. "However unfortunate. It gives us less time to coordinate our plans, and it gives them an edge. Anyway they have two Pool Ships with them..."
I looked at Applix. "I, too, will back you in the use of your weapons...if it is truly neccessary."

The Imperial would be dead if he tried to move against us. In the meantime I had gone back to looking over the codes on my holoscreen.
"Six days!" I cried. "I have six days to crack this thing? Curse Zero-space's irregularity..."
I regarded the lines of code on the holoscreen and the sidescreen of Yeerkish text.
"All I have so far is, translated, 'Greetings Visser 13, this is Visser 7, captain of the Eventon. I'm the Supreme Commander of the invasion fleet that is currently on its way to your planet of Draconiss. The defenses orbiting the planet seem to be of mediocre. There happens to be a Dome Ship orbiting the planet, and that could prove to be a thorn in our side, but enough about that. I am trying to make contact with you for one simple reason. Obviously..'--something. Does anyone know who Visser Seven is? Whoever he is he likes to underestimate his foes."
I sighed. My eyes hurt. It was annoying.

I lowered my weapon from its aim at Calumanth and regarded the screen of battle arrangements.
"This dragon being an Imperial is certainly a grave blow to us. Thank you for stopping them from learning any more, Ossanlin, and from diguising the true nature of our leadership system. Now, as far as battle tactics go, the Tyrennian and the Yeerk cruiser-class ship will certainly go together, their combined forces will be quite damaging to the Empire," I said thoughtfully, a hand to my mouth. "The rest of our ships will have to form some kind of blockade as you suggest Ossanlin." I looked around the room. "Since a decision must be made, I will appoint War-Prince Ossanlin as the second-in-command."
(ooc: if anyone else wants to be second, let me know, we can vote on it and disregard that :P)
"What about those moons," said Myitt, looking up from a green holoscreen. "I considered using them as shields as well, but the majority of them are inhabited. If we use them as shields we will be endangering billions of lunar inhabitants. Our people do not have the kind of technology to create a force field around an entire moon...and then there is the danger of the Imperials getting to the moons first, like Ozzy says."

"So," I sighed. "You want to know what kind of powers you are dealing with here. A Yeerk Invasion fleet is not a force to be taken lightly. The Empire doesn't have as advanced technology as Andalites or similar species do, but that does not mean they are more vulnerable to attack or easier to defeat. They are not to be underestimated. First of all they have two Pool Ships with them, and those things are more than just giant mess halls, they are weapons of mass destruction. I've seen the cannons on Pool Ships destroy huge asteroids, and blasting away thirty-million metric tons of solid rock and iron is not your average everyday pea shooting stuff. They also have at least two Blade Ships, possibly more, and anyone who has ever seen a Blade Ship in action knows that it can far outmaneuver a Pool Ship and is nearly as powerful. The Pool Ships will have hundreds of elite-class Bug fighters. They sting, badly. They're currently the second fastest ships the Empire has. The only thing faster is the cruiser-class. We're lucky enough to have one on our side...they may have one or more on theirs. I'm not sure. But by the Kandrona itself I hope I'm proven wrong. Now, I don't know what else they may have up their sleeve, and it's likely that they'll use Z-space as a shield for most of their power. Speaking as someone who has been in an Invasion fleet before, the entire fleet is a massive force, with many of the ships alone being dangerous forces to be reckoned with. Invasion fleets vary in size and power based upon the size and threat analysis of the planet. With a planet like this, with so many potential hosts...combined, they are going to make things rough."

"Listen, dragon allies, you need to consider what will happen to your planet if you do not defend it. You need to alert your civilians of this danger, because it's the only way we will save your planet if they manage to land ground troops. I may only have a very small, rather backwards idea of how horrible it is to be controlled by an Imperial, since I was once the Imperial doing the controlling, but you do not want the peoples of Draconiss to become host bodies, to become paralyzed, mindless puppets, whatever you want to call it. If your planet falls to the Empire they will eradicate any and every host that is deemed 'unfit' and take the rest. If they get an edge on this planet a point will be reached where all who resist will die, killed essentially by their own relatives. Their own people, no longer their own people of course. Then they do a little bit of what they like to call 'remodelling'. It's essentially the forced degredation of your planet's atmosphere to make it like that of our homeworld. As much as I liked my home its image should stay there and not be forced upon delicate ecosystems. But by that point the Draconissean ecosystem will be essentially dead. All organisms on the planet will be killed, except for those necessary to keep host bodies alive suck as livestock or crops. If you have cockroaches on your planet, they may just live as well. But otherwise it will be a wasted planet. Utterly, irreversibly wasted. Forever Imperial. It's not a pretty picture. Think about all this when you are fighting for your planet."

"Excuse me, I beg your pardon everyone, but when do we eat? These Draconissean days are endless..."

"Visser," said a voice.
"What is it?" I asked, looking away from a starchart.
"It appears that Zero-space has shifted," said the voice, a female Hork-Bajir and my main technician.
"How much has it shifted?" I inquired.
"It appears that it has cut about a week off of our travel time to emergence in Draconiss space. We have approximately six days until that point," she said.
"Really? Good work, I'll have to see if Cedrin knows of this," I turned back to the starchart and the screen changed. "Computer, hail the Eventon. On screen. 'Cedrin? Have you heard about our fantastic luck?'"
