MANY COUNTRIES LIKE INDIA,NORWAY,SWEDEN,UKRAINE,ISRAEL,ETC.
PICK OUT TWO WINNERS ,LET'S SAY MISS INDIA UNIVERSE AND MISS INDIA WORLD..ETC. OTHERS SEND THE NATIONAL WINNER TO MISS UNIVERSE AND THE FIRST RUNNER UP TO MISS WORLD OR VICEVERSA LIKE UKRAINE WHO SENDS THE NATIONAL WINNER TO MISS WORLD AND THE FIRST RUNNER UP TO MISS UNIVERSE..BECAUSE IT GIVES MORE IMPORTANCE TO THE FACT THAT MISS WORLD DOES A MORE HUMANITARIAN WORK THAN THE OTHER....
IN MY COUNTRY (PERU) WE HAVE TWO SEPARATE EVENTS TO CHOOSE THE REPRESENTATIVES TO BOTH PAGEANTS...AND VENEZUELA DOES IT TOO,BUT SINCE VENEZUELA STARTED IT,HASN'T HAD LUCK IN THE MISS WORLD FINALS...ALTHOUGH I REMEMBER NOW THAT IN 1997-98 THE VENEZUELAN GIRLS DIDN'T MAKE IT EVEN TO THE SEMIFINALS..
DO YOU SHARE MY OPINION OF HAVING ONLY ONE PAGEANT TO CHOOSE BOTH REPRESENTATIVES?

[> Personally, I think one pageant with various titles being awarded seems to be a good system. I don't mind seeing a few of the same ladies pageants, but it would be boring if most countries sent the same women.
