I think Miss Margaret Gardiner, Miss Universe 1978 was the most beautiful Miss South Africa in history followed only by Cindy Nell who was 2nd runner-up in Miss Universe 2003 but never placed in Miss World of the same year, third was Sonia Raciti who was 5th in Miss Universe 1999 and 2nd runner-up in Miss World of the same year, came fourth was Vanessa Carreira.
