Mpule Kwelagobe was not even among the top ten in Miss World 1997 and later she got the crown of Miss Universe 1999 in Trinidad & Tobago....
Agbani who was among the top ten in Miss Universe 2001 and is our current Miss World....

[> You forgot another one, Eva Reuber-Staier of Austria who was a top 15 semifinalist in Miss Universe 1969 and then went on to win Miss World 1969. -- A, 07:46:40 07/13/02 Sat

[> It is not true that Gina was the only 1st runner up from Miss Universe allowed to compete in Miss World. Helen Morgan of Wales, United Kingdom was 1st runner up in Miss Universe 1974 and then went on to win Miss World 1974 (though later she lost the Miss World crown) -- Informer, 07:58:36 07/13/02 Sat

[> Mpule Kwelaglobe competed in Miss World 97', did not make the cut, Georgina Rizk went to Miss World 1970 and did not make the cut, there is info about this somewhere and there are dozens upon dozens of girls who crossed over and placed in one or the other -- Ka, 08:13:25 07/13/02 Sat

[> [> Thank you for the information, and what I want to add is that a very fair thing is that every country's winner should go to both pageants (since they are both prestigious and fascinating), and have 2 tries in their lifes. What do you think??? -- Pageant Teacher, 13:45:05 07/13/02 Sat
