I have for many a year obtained great pleasure from the game of rugby league, from being the Hunslet Mascot to playing the game and now youth coaching.
Despite living in lancashire, my roots will always lie in Hunslet and I will gladly be commiting £5 of my hard earned brass to the good of the club.
However wouldn't it be nice if said players who took their pound of flesh from this hallowed club were to make the same commitment or indeed assisted in raising funds to pull the pheonix from the ashes.
I can think of several players who are either still in the Super league/pro areana or the rugby union world who wouldn't miss £5 and really owe some loyalty to the area and club that launched their success
