if there was a track built everytime we heard a new rumor we would have a drag strip on every corner.the track your thinking of is called the college station motorsports park.it is constructed of a 1/4 mile two lane blacktop.its the home of the chicken strip nationals.
there is not a track beeing built in arkansas that the nhra will back.well how do i know ,well let me explain.about 2 years ago mr.ronlusby{the man that ownes 80% of pine bluff}got 3 grants to build a nice qrter. mile track,the city of pine bluff donated the land .the nhra come in and looked at central arkansas and said that there was not enough motels,population,and revenue to sponsor 2 national events a year.what the nhra lookes at is if the fans have nowhere to stay the cant sell 60,000 tickets. if you look at where all the new tracks are there in bigger cities like vegas,indianapolis,dallas, etc.{not college station ,ar.} for about 2 years know the nhra has wanted to pull memphis off the schedule .its just not happened yet its coming sooner or later.for those of you that have been to the better tracks like dallas and vegas you would understand why they want to get rid of memphis.memphis is a dirty,nasty,geto fabulous,hole in the wall.so tell whoever you got your info from that there wrong.
