To become Miss America, a contestant must first win a local preliminary and then compete to represent her state. Miss Teen Will County is your local open Scholarship Program.
45 million dollars were awarded in Scholarships in 2006!

To compete you must:
-Be between the ages of 13 and 17 still in High-School (Teen) and 17 and 24 (Miss). Ages 3-5 (Princess), 6-9 (Junior), 10-12 (Pre- Teen)
- Be a United States citizen.
- Meet residency requirements for competing in a certain town/state.
- Meet character criteria as set forth by the Miss America Organization.
- Be in reasonably good health to meet the job requirements
- Be able to meet the time commitment & job responsibilities set forth.
