Subject: The Smeds Of Madison County And Eastern Kentucky

I have visted the section of the Valley Drive Smeds. You're right. Those things are creepy due to their incomplete status. If my memory serves me correctly, I think that if you take a gravel road off of Owsley Fork Road, there is a smed way up in the mountains of that area. (I explored this area on ATV.) Also, in Leslie County, there is a smedlike gas station off of 421. It's right there off of the main road and due to it's sad, burnt state, it looks as if someone tragicly died in the fire that engulfed the place. There is a story of its status. I'll have to ask someone in my family that lives down there, but someone in my family told me, if my memory serves correctly, they set it on fire on purpose beause they relocated. This gas station is not to be mistaken with the one they burnt down to remodel, its a ways further down the road. I think it burnt down because someone might have finished a cigarette, and threw it down, still burning, next to one of the gas pumps. And the place caught on fire. But that's my theroy. The place by the way was called Joes Stop 'n' Go. Also, if you decide to check it out, feature the superb eatery in front of the burnt ruins of Joes Stop 'n' Go. (The eatery is called Kountry Kookin', although i'm not sure if it's spelled like that.) There is another smed in eastern Kentucky. If you go down a gravel road at the end of Watts Road off of route 15, there is a smed behind some trees, although you can barely see it through the trees that suround it. Well, thanks for your time.
