I don't deny that Blue Licks is haunted, but I have to agree that Orbs are a total waste of time.

As a professional photographer, I see these "orbs" all the time, it's not a big deal. Cleaning your lens or changing cameras doesn't change anything: it's an artifact of light refraction ("lens flare") in most instances, and dust floating in the air in others.

These side effects have been known to professional photographers as long as photography has existed, and only in the last few years has it become fashionable now to suddenly try to make this into some sort of paranormal phenomena. The proliferation of digital cameras seem to have to fed this fad.

A camera is such a simple device that it's barely a device at all. The human eye is actually far more complex, especially considering that it's connected to the brain, which contains microtubules which research indicates are our mind's direct connection with the quantum universe. This being the case, I am disinclined to put much stock in ANY story in which a camera recorded something which no human eye saw at the time. It is far more realistic to expect that ghostly phenomena would be seen by people but NOT show up in their photographs, and in fact this is exactly what has happened in the ghost accounts with the most veracity.
