Subject: Latonia-Decoursy trainyard

Does anyone have any information about the abandoned buildings between the abandoned sections of the Latonia/Decoursy trainyard on Rt. 17 and the Licking River? A couple of the buildings look like giant concrete pillers, about 15 feet diameter and about 30 feet tall, with a round, one story brick building on top. The roof, doors, and windows are long gone, and there is no sign of any kind of stairwell, ladders, or catwalks leading to either of the buildings. There is another building further upstream that is square and on some sort of support scaffolding; it looks newer and has a catwalk leading to the trainyards (about 20 feet up), with what appears to be a guard station about midway between the trainyard and building. It is inaccesible, as trees have grown up through the catwalk. There's about 15 abandoned buildings in/around the trainyard, including tunnels and an underground river, but those 3 buildings have me stumped, and the guards and engineers who still use the trainyard (who are very cool about trespassers, so long as your respectful, by the way) have no idea what they were used for. If anyone has any idea what these buildings could be, I'd love to hear from you. I hope to have some pics of these buildings, and the trainyard in general, online soon. I'll post here when it's up.

Thanks,
