Subject: Lexington's Weather

Has anyone ever heard the Old Wives' Tale that Lexington has "it's own weather"? I'm from here and have heard this my whole life from my family and family friends. They talk about how Lexington seems to run on it's own weather patterns that the rest of the surrounding Bluegrass doesn't share. And it is true that some of the weather we get here is not shared by my kin in Woodford/Anderson/Clark county.

What do you think could account for that? Is Lexington just on a different "sea-level" then the rest of the state?
