Subject: Ravenna area cemetery

I enjoyed seeing the pictures of the Irvine and Ravenna area sites. I grew up in that area years ago and spent summers as a typical kid, wandering throughout the county. One thing I thought you might be interested in is an old unmarked cemetery across the railroad from downtown Ravenna. It was located about where the old sandtower was (anyone from that area and time is familar with it). We found it one day when a friend puled up a stone lying on the ground. Turns out it was a primative headstone. We found quite a few in the area, all handmade. We left the area untouched. My grandfather retired from L&N and told us there was an old graveyard for negro line workers somewhere in that area. This was 35 years ago, but I would imagine it is still there. I always wondered the history of it. If you are interested in researching it, I live in Oldham County and would gladly assist you in any way.
