My daughter is now 9 years old. During the last school year, she would not properly take care of her hair. It was mostly unwashed, oily looking, stringy, and mostly umcombed. After stern attempts to get her to take care of her hair, she generally refused. By spring it was below her shoulders and looked horrible. In May I told her if she did not improve on this that I would give her a boys cut for the summer. No change, so After the last day of school, dressed as a girl(in a short dress) I took her to a barber shop. She was given a boys crew cut. For the rest of the summer she looked like a boy, getting trimmed every 2 weeks.
