Subject: EVER AFTER- A LOVE STORY OF MARGARETTE

Ever After

Margarette felt that her life could get no worse. At the moment, she shared a flat with a girl in Dublin, but they were almost strangers. Besides, her flatmate was never in. It was just a place for her to crash occasionally. She wondered how her stepmother would react if she found out about Margarette ’s situation now. She’d probably just laugh in her face, and tell her that she deserved it! That it was her fault that boyfriend of her’s had gotten her pregnant, and then dumped her to lust after a girl who had bigger tits.

That was the way it always ended, wasn’t it? She'd decided that men weren’t to be trusted. Especially if they were part of the college football team. Margarette sighed, how was she going to support herself and a child? God, it was difficult enough already! Her father was soo besotted with his second wife that he would do anything to please her. It almost seemed as though her father stopped caring for her the moment he’d married Sylvia.
He still continued depositing a fair amount of money into her account every month, but that didn’t mean that he cared. He just felt that it was his responsibility to see her through university.

As Margarette continued down the street, she gave an involuntary shudder. She’d walked this street millions of times before, buut this time she felt different. She’d been overcome with a warm, welcomed feeling during previous visits, but things had changed and now everything seemed cold and empty. She gave up hoping that her father would someone try to repair their relationship. She had no one she could turn to.
She’d been popular at college, but that was only because of the fact that she was the star player’s girlfriend. Now that he’d dumped her, and left her pregnant, they saw no reason to be nice to her. Why bother, they thought?

She was well in her fourth month of pregnancy, which was what made her situation even worse. She regretted leaving Philippines at least she would’ve had family and friends she could turn to there. Why had she accepted the scholarship to come study here at Trinity College in Ireland? She knew that she had some Irish blood in her, but as it was, she had no relatives in Ireland- or at least none that she knew of!

The weather had been horrible last night, making it difficult for her to get any sleep at all. But it wasn’t lack of sleep, which made her feel like she did today. It had something to do with that void in her heart. She had been four months without friends and family. She craved affection of some kind. She’d tried new relationships, but they’d all failed. Mostly because of the child she was carrying, but she also had to take some of the blame. She felt that it was almost impossible to establish a sense of trust in anyone anymore, ever since her naivety had gotten her into trouble the first time.

She felt hungry and that was why she was walking the streets. She soon came upon one of her favourite snack bars. It had a dodgy exterior, but was located right in the heart of Dublin. Not many people knew of this place, and the only people who frequented were all regulars. Despite the shabbiness of the exterior, the food was absolutely delicious and was not too large a burden on the wallet. This Margarette was glad of.
Yes, her father did provide her with a decent amount of money each month. In fact, it was more than decent, but she knew that she had to start saving for hospital fees, nappies and all that other stuff which came with a baby.

She finished her meal quickly and began on her way home. As she walked out of the snack bar, a black van with tinted windows stopped outside the snack bar, and five of most gorgeous guys jumped out. Margarette 's breath caught in her throat, as she saw the last guy get out of the car, he had floppy blonde hair, and the most sincere blue eyes. As their eyes met, all time seemed to stop. Meanwhile, his friends had already entered the milk bar.

The moment Nicky saw her, he knew he was interested. She wasn't exquisitely beautiful, like some of the woman he'd seen all those parties that he and the lads had to attend, but there was something about the innocence in her eyes, and the warmth of her smile. Such a look could not be put on- he knew that for sure. And it was at moment that this was a girl that he just had to have. It wasn't a matter of lust, but more a matter of the relationship that they could share.
Nicky extended his hand, "I'm Nicky ." He told her.
"I'm Margarette ." She replied.
"How would you like to join me for a burger and some fries?" he asked.
"I'd love to, but I've just eaten my fill." She explained.
"Well, how would you like to join me for dinner tonight?" he suggested.
"Sure! That'd be great!"
"Um, so I'll pick you up about six tonight?"
"Sounds great. Here's my address." She said, scribbling her address and phone number on a hanky that Nicky pulled out of his pocket.

The dinner was a blast! And soon Nicky found himself head over heels in love with Margarette . And with Nicky 's help, Margarette finally learned to trust again. Five whole months later, Margarette finally gave birth to a baby girl who they named, Bourne Byrne .
"You should've seen Nicky !" Margarette exclaimed, "You would've thought that he was the one in labour!"
The others all laughed, while Nicky just grinned and blushed a bright red.
Soon all the laughter died down, and they were all serious again.

Then completely out of the blue, Nicky looked Margarette in the eye, and began a short speech
" Margarette , I know that I haven't known you for very long, but these last five months with you, have been the happiest in myy life. They've exceed all my wildest expectations and to tell the truth, even being in Westlife can't beat the feelings I've been feeling these last few months. So…' he said, bending down on one knee at the same time, "will you marry me?"
For a few moments, Margarette remained silent, the question not having quite sunk in.
Meanwhile Nicky was getting more and more anxious by the moment. "Well?"
And at that moemnt, silent tears began to streak down Margarette 's face.
"Oh My God, what's wrong?" Nicky asked, fully panicking.
"Nothing's wrong Nico !" Margarette reassured him, "Believe me! You've just made me one very happy woman!"
"So does that mean?"
"Yes! Yes Nicky , I'll marry you! You can't believe how fantastic this day has been for me! First I gave birth to my gorgeous babyy girl , and now you're proposing! I love you!" she said, wrapping her arms around his neck, and holding him tight.
A couple of months later, Kian and Margarette were married, and together they all lived happily ever after.
