from Dance Spirit Magazine:
Not all successful dancers started taking class before they could read. Remember that your goals, attitude and outlook can make the difference between starting late and not starting at all.
Jumping in with both feet is often the way to go when time isn’t on your side. Misty Copeland, a member of American Ballet Theatre’s corps de ballet, took her first class at age 13 (late by ballet standards) because her drill team coach said she looked like a ballerina. Ballet instantly became her passion, and Copeland took at least one class a day. Soon after, she was on pointe and went on to land a full scholarship to ABT’s summer intensive.
You may find that you need to do extra work on your own. “I concentrated on classes, but I also took some private lessons,” says Brant. “Sometimes I rented studio space just for myself.”
Kim Culp, a Radio City Rockette currently dancing in EFX at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, NV, was truly inspired after attending a dance competition at the age of 16. (She had taken only one class a week previously.) “When I got back to the studio I took every class I could, whether it was toddlers, 3-year-olds, whatever,” she says. “I had to take classes with kids a lot younger than me, but with a lot more experience. But my drive was strong enough that I stuck with it and wouldn’t quit, no matter what.”

So, basically, NO! It's never too late
Hope this helped
