There are so many factors involved in this conversation(rant) that most of you are completely unaware of.Mainly,the teachers of successful, established schools, have been at this for a long long time. Most of us have grown up, competed against, or danced with our fellow teachers. Most of the teachers that are looking for excuses for their schools poor results, should never have been given the T.C.R.G. in the first place.I'll bet the one bragging not to be a 'push-over', only jumped on the Riverdance bandwagon a few years ago!! When you don't have the basic skills to be a dancer, how can you honestly accept payment as a teacher!! There were no favors done at the Mid Am. Oireachtas, and there is not the opportunity to cheat. I'm not saying mistakes may not have happened, but all humans make mistakes. There should be a system to check for these possible errors, and there should be a system to weed out dancers that are not qualified to be at a Mid Am. Championship. This is the qualifying event for the world cships! If youre not World calliber, you don't belong there! I>E Senior Ladies 5th place.....doesnt even know how to dance hard shoe dances!!!!Yet her teachers have the nerve to stand at meetings and agree that the standards need to be tightened.
