I was inspired by the train layout at the museum when I was a kid in the early '60s until they tore it out (apparently with no consideration given to its historical value). I remember the orange groves, the mountains, and the port area, and the very good use of forced perspective.

I've been trying for a few years to get ANY photos of the layout, and am so glad that this website has a couple posted. I have contacted the museum to try to get information, or find out if any archival photographs exist, and according to the folks at the museum, apparently no photos exist in the museum's archives (if it even has an archive) or anywhere else that they are aware of. It's pretty frustrating -- not just about the layout, but so many other exhibits. I can't imagine that those exhibits were not documented prior to ripping them out.

Anyway, if anyone has any information or photos on the train layout at all I would sure love to hear from you. My e-mail is randy@thepecks.com.

Thanks!
