Subject: Mammoth Bells

In 1957 the bells that appeared on the mammoth tusks were placed by seniors from USC to get rid of the bells the juniors had in their dormitory room. It seems the seniors snuck into the museum just before 5 o'clock one day and distracted the museum guard and threw the bells up onto the tusks. The seniors had a step stool with them, crawled into the display and tied with knots the bells to the tusks. I wonder if they are still there? The seniors threatened the juniors with taking future bells back to the mammoth tusks. The tusks were big.
