The rumor of her slipping out of contention had spread like wildfire when she failed to join the rest of the 25 candidates to Vigan few days ago for their souvenir photoshoot. And now Mayumi Keller is now officially booted out with Shiela Pineda taking her place as Candidate #1.
The problem was not about print ads, TV commercials, existing contracts and all (like what it did to Mabuhay's own April Tanhueco and Aeesha Rand), but this time, residency status and Philippine passport was the core of the problem. Frustrating for us to see her go like this, it's even harder for the half-German Keller to accept the decision at the time when she has proven herself as amongst the closely watched ladies, and a clear shoo-in for one of the crowns, raising the question nobody likes to hear- "Who's next?"
