My Tiel was doing the same thing and I was stumped. I read in a cockatiel book about it and this is what it says...
"The head is lowered, and the body kept erect at a steep angle, and the tial pointed upward. If your cockatiel has become imprinted to humans, it may woo you by assuming this posture. Take it as a compliment."
