The Music 101 (Musical Therapy Improve session) is Wednesday from 7pm-8pm in the upper auditorium; overlooking the patio. Harbor View House is on Beacon street (next door to post office) and overlooks Ports 'o' Call in the San Pedro Harbor. Sign in at the front desk in the large lobby.
Bring an insturment that you don't mind sharing. Music isn't taught or lectured about...rather we use the Carl Orff method of just letting people play and develope at their own pace and level. We encourage the residents to create their own music and lyrics. A 30 minute documentary has recently been made by Derek Sajbel and will be shown in Oakland at "the Talk of the Town" club and gallery on July 28th.
we need more volunteers to jam with the residents. If anyone could donate musical equipment of any sort, that would be greatly appreciated. On the third floor is a large art gallery with the residents work too. You can visit it during the day.
