Subject: What game were you at last year????
In reply to: Mayfield Alum Coach 's message, "Re: Nothing can stop Hudson" on 15:09:16 09/10/02 Tue

Mayfield did NOT have 400 yards of offense. They had 276 yards on 52 plays. Hudson had 214 yards on 44 plays.

Mayfield did NOT put 5 Hudson players out of the game. Two left the game, one only temporarily.

Now for the facts, Hudson had four starters out on defense for the game. They also were without their first and second string QB and their #2 running back.

Even missing all those guys, the score was only 12 - 7 at the half and Hudson drove the ball down the field on Mayfield the opening drive of the third qtr. Hudson then stopped Mayfield on their own two on two plays and Mayfield quick kicked. One of the inexperienced defensive players playing in place of an injured starter foolishly touched the ball and Mayfield recovered and took it in for a score. A later score in the game off an un-fielded kick off resulted in another late score for Mayfield.

So Hudson gave Mayfield a VERY close game despite being VERY short-handed. That was a MUCH better team than this year's Mayfield team, so you're in for a bad night pal.
