with a new coach and the return of nemec as an assistant kent could be a surprise this yr. the coaching staff has over 150 yrs of experience and all of the coaches were there when kent was a powerhouse in the old metro and when they won the first ever w.r.c. title in 96'.up front they have 4 returning o lineman.1 got honerable mention and at rt guard is a very talented jr. d line is big up front with 3 srs. 1 of whom recieved all conference. more kids are out to play this yr with the resigning of vassolotti.at qb is sly upshaw recieved hon men last yr only played 7 games at qb but was very effective, great option qb and very good at rolling out.kent may be criticized after having 2 yrs going 2-8 under vassolotti but with new coaches and some new wr's who have good hands and lots of speed the rough riders could contend this yr.it will be up to the offense to produce and special teams to put them in a position to do so.kent defense is typically solid and will need to remain so against tough offensive teams like hudson.the roughriders may be a surprise in the wrc this yr.
