Ok our PA (chris and i's ) is a "Mixer amp" powerd PA. It is recomended for use with auidiences of up to 150 people. IT is basicly exactly the same type as the ones at Dudley's. Because of the way that it is designed it is impossible to use a mixing desk on it.

It might be better now knowing this to hire a PA , in witch case we need to find out exactly what the sound girl has. U said mixing desk! this could mean one of two things.

A Powerd mixing desk: This has the "amp! built into it witch then u can balence the mix witch goes straght out to the speakers and monitors.

A Non Powerd mixing desk: this basicly is a set of fader connected to dimmers. And to accullay get this out to the speakers it requires stand alone Amps usually in the form of Rack units. OR .. the speakers have to be "active" so that they have there own power source.

Its all very complicated and will need quite a bit of thought. However ... i do know somone with a really big 400 watt system with bass-bins and everything , wether i can get it or not is another matter , but im sure if he is there and we pay him, hes a friend so it wont be alot , around 50 quid i spose.

If u send me some info about what this girl accually has in the way of equipmant then we can find out what u need to get.

I need to know what the Cap of the hall is, anything over 150 people is gonna need to mic shit up. DRUMS < BASS < GUITAR . and this requires skills and equipment that i cant help u with at the moment. I do however have accsess to people who do know , and they happen to be the same people with the big PA.

They are in a band calleds SALT, and it might be an idea to have them play as they will draw in alot more people aswell as haveing the equipment and knowedge required. They are light rock type stuff. and i think that it would be well worth our while booking them up.

Give me feed back on these ideas , i have time on my hands at the mo, so i can get onto things very quikly. Howver i wont be around for the majority of Agust so ill need to do this quik.
