Ummm PC problem here

This sooks! Somehow and someway, I lost all the files to my briefcase....How? I don't know, its just gone (all of it) ::screams:: I have a Gateway laptop. Anyone know of how I can get this stuff back, it may have been deleted by my son on accident (or unless Pern paid him with cookies)! It would be a great help if anyone knows of a way. Thanks.
