I was born in the old ruins of Marshank in the northland coast. As I have heard my given name was Brightbreeze. I the daughter of of the outcast trader Vintor Erah and Fleeze, only daughter of Brightray the chief of our little tribe. Me dad was banished from the tribe because he got our tribe kicked out of the hospility of the dunehogs by stealing and drinking all of thier supply of seafoam ale, breaking all of thier newly made stilts, and nearly killing a young hog who told on him. Yet despise all this my mother, the only child of the chief fell in love with him. They married in secret and Vintor always was near the tribe, tracking behind them, hiding in small caves, so he could take Fleeze on Midnight strolls when everyone else was a sleep. When they had me, Fleeze had to explain everything to her father, who died soon after in shock. So they named me first part of my name after me Grandad and the second part after me great-great-granmum I heard and me dad became chief of the newly named tribe Mortfin. My father did well for a few weeks until a foolish hare named carl was on watch for the night and fell asleep. That is how we became slaves of the Evil warlord and cosair Forluck Dinguiy who made our tribe reinforce his ship so his crew could travel to a island called Sampetre-Samet-Sa-Sampretzle-what ever you call it with us as galley slaves. during a rebellion of all the slaves (moles, hedgehogs, squirrels, mice, ect.) me Parents escaped with me and 3 others down southwards trying to leave as least amount of tracks as possible. Yet we were followed by a rat and a ferret who killed 2 hares and wounded my dad on his side, mum had two slashes on her arm, Fleetfur the third hare was hurt on foot so he wobbled around, and I, still a baby, had a small gash on my leg. Yet the enemy was killed and we carried on.
Until...
We reached a thick forest, full of nuts, (of course we ate them) and camped about a third of the way through. We were then awakened by Fleetfur in the middle of the night. That was when we fell into the diesese of Pentrofear. We were awakened by Fleetfur alright, when his limp body fell upon us. His ears were shriveled and his fur was grey. He was barely recognizable. that was when we fled.
We ran.
We hopped.
We jogged.
We Ducked 'n Weaved.
We hopskipped.
But we didn't get away from the diesese. Me mum died 2 days later. A half an hour walk from the river Moss. Me Dad and I were silver and scrunched with little ears when we were found by Log-a-Log Ginger who gave us the cure for the sickness. Trying to ruin ones stomach I say though, pour'n that awful stuff down our throats. My dad died with too much emotion. *being saved, wife dead, escaped, awful cures, free* that night the shrews were ambushed and the otters took me to thier holt where I grew a few seasons in the care of Skip's daughter Flimtail. She named me Otterears and taught me how to swim and how to use a sling. Then they took me here to Redwall Abbey. That is why I have a Otter for an Aunt.
