How did these three youngsters happen upon the Abbey, and in turn DAB? For anybeast who ever wondered, recorded here are the tales of the three young friends, Woodrose Elmscroll, Lupine Hawkeye and Laurel Herbpaw.

Part I: Lupine Hawkeye

Lupine, true to the standards of a normal hare, has always been garrulous, gluttonous, and all around hare-like. Her parents and two older sisters were more rabbit-like (no offense to rabbits), sticklers for manners and very prim. Lupine did not fit in at all, and her parents had a hard time handling this hyper Dibbun. They knew that if they could not handle her, then she would get into trouble. So they realized they had to send her to Redwall. They sent her with a family of healer mice who were traveling from their village, only a stop on their endless wanderings, to Redwall.

Part II: Laurel Herbpaw

Laurel was born into a family of roving healer mice as an only child. She developed a love of the outdoors, as she spent much of her early years wandering from place to place with her family. Her family had been headed in the general direction of Redwall, intending to raise their daughter there. When Lupine's parents asked them to take Lupine to Redwall, the Herbpaws agreed and took Lupine under their wing. They finsihed their journey and settled in at Redwall.

Part III: Woodrose Elmscroll

Woodrose Elmscroll was always a lively and friendly young squirrel. She was born into a family with one brother, older than her by six seasons. He had always been rather distant to her; she had never gotten to know him too well. When her parents reached the decision to move on from their home to Redwall Abbey, where Woodrose would be brought up around others her age, she was four seasons old. Her brother came along, of course. All seemed to go well, as Woodrose and her family settled in to life at Redwall. But her brother had always had a rebellious streak, and it seemed that he did not get along with Redwall's youngsters. But for that he might have joined DAB; instead he ran away in the middle of the night. Woodrose hadn't any idea why she didn't see him, as her parents didn't want her to know, so she carried on having fun with new friends.

Part IV: Paths Cross

At Redwall, Laurel and Lupine, already good friends, met Woodrose. The three Dibbuns became inseperable. Together the three ran off to DAB. Woodrose and Lupine had found something in their souls that matched up, though they didn't know it. They both had a sense of adventure. They got in trouble for that. Laurel ran off with them, as they were her friends.
